What to expect at Camp Hemotion 2026:
Suit up for a week of heroic fun, teamwork, and confidence-building at Camp Hemotion 2026. Campers will jump into classic camp favorites while making new friends and taking on challenges that help them grow stronger in every way.
From games and team challenges to camp staples like archery, the swimming pool, climbing wall, giant swing, and more, every day is designed to be unforgettable, empowering, and filled with adventure.
In its over 40 years of existence, Camp Hemotion has served as HFNC's primary way to reach young people and provide them with the tools they need to overcome the challenges presented them by their illness and lead healthy, vibrant and importantly, full lives. Specific strategies employed during the Camp session to bring about these outcomes include: Self-infusion/administration training - medical professionals help campers learn how to mix their own medicine and inject intravenously into their arm or hand or administer subcutaneously as easily, painlessly and effectively as possible. This is an important right of passage for children with bleeding disorders as most often their parents have performed this task since they were infants. Learning self infusion/administration is a critical step toward independence, as the intravenous/subcutaneous medication is required sometimes as often as daily to sustain life for people with bleeding disorders.
While Camp Hemotion primarily serves the 20-county region of Northern California (Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity, Mendocino, Lake, Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Solano, San Francisco, Contra Costa, Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Benito, Monterey, Fresno, Kings, and Tulare), we are accepting applications from families outside this area as well!
Camp Hemotion Counselors and Staff Are CampSafe® Certified
We’re proud to share that our Camp Hemotion counselors and staff have officially earned the CampSafe® Certification Badge for Summer 2025 — a recognition of our team’s commitment to the highest standards of safety and professional training.
This certification reflects what we value most: protecting our campers and ensuring every family knows their children are in capable, trusted hands.
This past summer, more than 15,000 camp professionals from 183 camps across 44 states and Canada completed the CampSafe® program — and we’re proud to stand among them. The badge represents more than just training; it’s proof that safety comes first at Camp Hemotion.
99% of trained staff reported greater confidence in their ability to keep campers safe, and we’re carrying that confidence forward into every session we lead.
At Camp Hemotion, educated staff mean safer campers — and safer campers make for the best summer experiences.
