CODE OF CONDUCT FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS OF NorCalBDF EVENTS
It is the policy of Northern California Bleeding Disorders Foundation that all participants, including attendees, exhibitors, vendors, NorCalBDF staff, volunteers, and all other stakeholders at NorCalBDF meetings both in-person and virtually will conduct themselves in a professional manner that is welcoming to all participants and free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation.
Participants will treat each other with respect and consideration to create a collegial, respectful, inclusive, and professional environment at NorCalBDF events both in person and virtually. Creating a supportive environment to enable engagement at NorCalBDF meetings is the responsibility of all participants.
Unacceptable Behavior
NorCalBDF will not tolerate any form of illegal discrimination or harassment on the basis an individual’s race (including, but not limited to, hair texture and protective hairstyles such as braids, locks, and twists), color, religion, religious creed (including religious dress and grooming practices), national origin, ancestry, citizenship, physical or mental disability, medical condition (including cancer and genetic characteristics), genetic information, marital status, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, or related medical conditions), gender (including gender identity and gender expression), actual or perceived age (40 and older), sexual orientation, veteran and/or military status (including status as a uniformed service member, a veteran, or dependent of a service member, or unfavorable discharge from military service), domestic violence victim status, political affiliation, work authorization status, or any other status protected by federal, state, or local laws.
Harassing conduct includes, but is not limited to: unlawful harassment, derogatory comments, epithets, slurs, or negative stereotyping; threatening, intimidating or hostile acts; denigrating jokes; and written, electronic, or graphic material that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion toward an individual or group and that take place online or on-site.
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
Upon receiving a report of unacceptable behavior, NorCalBDF’s priority will be the safety and security of participants. Sanctions for violating this Code of Conduct may range from verbal warning, being denied access to NorCalBDF events, to notifying appropriate authorities. Retaliation for complaints of inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.
The following Agreements and Disclaimers are offered by and pertain to NorCalBDF's events provided by the Northern California Bleeding Disorders Foundation and to speakers, presenters, sponsors, exhibitors, and volunteers (collectively referred to herein as the “NorCalBDF”), and the person intending to attend and participate in the Conference. YOU AGREE NOT TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST, OR SEEK TO HOLD, OR HOLD LIABLE, NorCalBDF FOR THE USER’S USE OF THE INFORMATION PROVIDED.
The information presented is solely intended for Consumers, Foundations and Healthcare professionals. You understand and agree that you are being provided the information for educational and informational purposes only and that information will be provided to educate you on the latest scientific, clinical, therapeutic, and educational advancements. Although NorCalBDF strives to present only current and accurate information at its events, you agree not to solely rely on this information or consider it to be any form of professional advice without additional independent review of its accuracy, completeness, efficacy, and timeliness. CÓDIGO DE CONDUCTA PARA TODOS LOS PARTICIPANTES EN LOS EVENTOS DE NorCalBDF
La política de la Fundación para los Trastornos Hemorrágicos del Norte de California (Northern California Bleeding Disorders Foundation, NorCalBDF) establece que todos los participantes, incluidos los asistentes, expositores, proveedores, personal de NorCalBDF, voluntarios y todas las demás partes interesadas en las reuniones de NorCalBDF, tanto presenciales como virtuales, se comportarán de manera profesional, acogiendo a todos los participantes y sin incurrir en ningún tipo de discriminación, acoso o represalia.

Comportamiento inaceptable
NorCalBDF no tolerará ninguna forma de discriminación o acoso ilegal por motivos de raza (incluyendo, entre otros, la textura del cabello y los peinados protectores como trenzas, rastas y twists), color, religión, credo religioso (incluyendo la vestimenta religiosa y las prácticas de aseo personal), origen nacional, ascendencia, ciudadanía, discapacidad física o mental, condición médica (incluyendo cáncer y características genéticas), información genética, estado civil, sexo (incluido el embarazo, el parto, la lactancia materna o afecciones médicas relacionadas), género (incluida la identidad de género y la expresión de género), edad real o percibida (40 años o más), orientación sexual, condición de veterano y/o militar (incluida la condición de miembro del servicio uniformado, veterano o dependiente de un miembro del servicio, o baja desfavorable del servicio militar), condición de víctima de violencia doméstica, afiliación política, condición de autorización de trabajo, o cualquier otra condición protegida por las leyes federales, estatales o locales.
Las conductas de acoso incluyen, entre otras: acoso ilegal, comentarios despectivos, epítetos, insultos o estereotipos negativos; actos amenazantes, intimidatorios u hostiles; bromas denigrantes; y material escrito, electrónico o gráfico que denigre o muestre hostilidad o aversión hacia una persona o grupo y que tenga lugar en línea o in situ.
Consecuencias de un comportamiento inaceptable
Al recibir una denuncia de comportamiento inaceptable, la prioridad de NorCalBDF será la seguridad y protección de los participantes. Las sanciones por infringir este Código de Conducta pueden ir desde una advertencia verbal, la denegación del acceso a los eventos de NorCalBDF, hasta la notificación a las autoridades competentes. No se tolerarán las represalias por denuncias de conducta inapropiada.
